Privacy Policy
Last updated: March 16, 2026
SwimSum is a mobile application provided by CREATIVE ARTS GLOBAL LTD ("we", "our", or "us"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, retain, and delete information when you use the SwimSum app on Android or other platforms.
1. Data We Access and Collect
We disclose the following:
- App activity / usage data: We collect anonymized usage data such as how often you use the app, what workouts you generate (e.g. pool sizes, distances, workout types), what you share, and subscription-related events, via Firebase Analytics for product improvement and to understand how the app is used. We do not need to know you personally (e.g. we do not correlate this with your name). This data is not required for core app functionality.
- Approximate location (country/region): We collect country or region so we can understand where our app is used and, where relevant, for analytics and advertising (e.g. to show more relevant ads by region). Not required for core app functionality.
- Device or other IDs: Our advertising and analytics partners (Google AdMob, Firebase) may access your device's Advertising ID and similar identifiers to show ads and to analyse app usage. Not required for core app functionality.
- User IDs: If you sign in (Google or email), we may associate an anonymized user identifier with analytics for product improvement only. We do not store your name or email as analytics properties.
- Age or age range (optional): We may collect age or age range when you provide it (e.g. in your account or preferences) so we can understand who uses the app and, in the future, offer better recommendations. We do not need this to identify you personally.
- Workout and training data (health and fitness data): When you use SwimSum, we may collect information about swim workouts you plan or record in the app (for example, distances, sets, pool sizes, and workout structure). We treat this as health and fitness data because it relates to your exercise activity. This is used to provide app features (such as showing past or planned workouts) and to improve SwimSum. It is not required for basic use of the app, and we do not combine it with your real name.
Health Data: SwimSum treats workout and training information that you enter or generate in the app as health and fitness data because it relates to your exercise activity. We do not currently collect physiological metrics such as heart rate, blood pressure, or step count. In the future, we may add optional features that let you store additional health metrics (such as heart rate) for your own tracking; if we do, we will update this Privacy Policy and clearly explain what is collected and how it is used.
2. How We Use This Data
You do not need to create an account to use the core features of SwimSum. If you choose to sign in, we use that information only to give you a consistent experience and to improve the app. We use third-party services as described below; we do not sell your personal data.
Now: We use the data above (location, app activity, workout types, pool sizes, sharing) to understand who uses the app, where they are, and how they use it—without correlating it with your real name.
In the future: We may add account features such as saving workouts and tracking progress. We may use your data (e.g. age range, preferences, workout history) to give you personalized recommendations. We still will not need to know you personally; recommendations will be based on your usage and preferences, not your name or identity.
3. Third-Party Services
Advertising (Google AdMob)
SwimSum uses Google AdMob to show advertisements. AdMob may collect and use data such as your device's Advertising ID to deliver relevant ads and for analytics. We do not sell your personal data.
Analytics (Firebase)
We use Firebase Analytics to understand how the app is used and to improve it. This may include anonymized data such as country, frequency of use, workout generation behaviour, and subscription-related events (for example whether you have Remove Ads). We do not store your name or email address as analytics properties. This data is used only for product improvement and is not shared with third parties beyond Google's services.
4. Data Retention (How Long We Store Your Data)
We tell you clearly how long we store your data:
- Analytics data: Retained for up to 14 months in line with Google Firebase Analytics settings, unless you request deletion sooner. We do not retain this data indefinitely.
- Account-related data: If you have signed in, we retain your account and associated data until you request deletion. We do not retain it longer than needed once you ask for deletion.
- Other health metrics: We do not currently collect physiological health metrics such as heart rate, blood pressure, or step count, so none of that data is stored or retained.
5. Data Deletion (How You Can Have Your Data Deleted)
You can request that we delete your data from our app and services:
- How to request deletion: Contact us via our SwimSum Google Group or our GitHub repository and state that you want your account and/or data deleted.
- What we do: We will delete (or anonymize) your account and associated data from our systems. Where data is held by third parties (e.g. Firebase), we will request deletion in line with their processes.
- How long it takes: We will process your request and confirm completion within 30 days of receiving it.
6. Data Security
We use industry-standard services (including Google Firebase and Google Cloud) to store and process data. We do not sell your personal or sensitive data to third parties.
7. Children's Privacy
SwimSum is intended for users aged 13 and older (including teens and adults). We do not knowingly collect personally identifiable information from children under 13. If you are under 13, please do not use the app or provide any personal data.
8. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. The "Last updated" date at the top will change when we do. We encourage you to review this page periodically.
